CCBB Rio terá 1ª Mostra de Cinema Haitiano no Brasil
O Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil do Rio de Janeiro (CCBB RJ) e o Centro de Arte e Pesquisa People’s Palace Projects (PPP), sediado em Londres, realizam a partir do próximo dia 18 a 1ª Mostra de Cinema Haitiano no Brasil. O evento é gratuito e se estenderá até o dia 26 deste mês.
O People’s Palace Projects (PPP) é um centro de arte e pesquisa que atua no Brasil com projetos sociais e culturais desde o início dos anos de 1990. Nos últimos 25 anos, a PPP tem usado arte e criatividade como ferramentas de resposta às questões de justiça social e climática, saúde mental e direitos humanos não só no Reino Unido, mas também em favelas, periferias e territórios indígenas do Brasil e pelo mundo.
O gerente de Projeto da PPP no Brasil, Jan Onoszko, informou que serão apresentadas ao público seis obras cinematográficas, sendo três longas-metragens dos diretores haitianos Géssica Généus e Richard Sénécal, dois documentários dos diretores brasileiros Gabriel Martins e Clementino Junior e um filme de animação da produtora PositivesNegatives. A data de abertura foi escolhida porque o dia 18 de maio é o Dia da Bandeira, importante para o Haiti, porque foi construída pelo povo, depois da decisão de sua independência da França, em 1803. A programação pode ser acessada no site da mostra.
Aproximação
Na avaliação de Jan Onoszko, é importante aproximar os povos brasileiro e haitiano, que têm tantas histórias e origens comuns. “Nós sabemos pela nossa pesquisa, feita ao longo de quatro anos em seis corredores de migração no mundo inteiro, que essas comunidades não se misturam no Brasil. Os haitianos ficam bastante separados do resto da população brasileira. Portanto, é importante mostrar quanto os haitianos sofrem, de certa forma, os mesmos problemas que os afrodescendentes brasileiros enfrentam em termos de racismo, de barreiras invisíveis, de acesso a emprego, saúde e educação e, ao mesmo tempo, têm uma cultura compartilhada muito rica”.
Pensando nas crenças de matriz africana aqui no Brasil, por exemplo, Onoszko afirmou que são muito parecidas com o Vodu, crença bastante comum na África Ocidental e no Haiti e que foi trazida para o Brasil pelos escravos. “Embora não seja considerada uma religião para os haitianos, é mais uma tradição, uma prática e tem entidades em comum com o Brasil, como Ogum das crenças afrobrasileiras”, destacou.
Riqueza de cinema
O gerente de Projeto da PPP disse ainda que o importante da mostra é que ela demonstra para os brasileiros que o Haiti é muito mais do que um país em crise política, mas que produziu uma riqueza de cinema para um país pequeno do Caribe, que apresenta muitas questões semelhantes às existentes no Brasil. “Para os haitianos, também é importante mostrar que eles são muito mais do que pessoas fugindo de uma nação onde a crise político-econômica e a corrupção debilitaram ou dificultaram o futuro para quem mora lá e que aparece muito nos filmes”..
Embora a migração não seja o tema principal em todos os filmes da mostra, há personagens que tem familiares ou amigos que moram fora, personagens que querem sair ou não do país e a questão sobre o futuro do Haiti é muito importante nos seis filmes.
Além da exibição dos filmes e bate-papos, o evento terá performances do Grupo Clamor! com A Batida pelos Direitos Humanos, que mistura dança, canto, percussão e artes circenses, com cerca de 20 migrantes do Haiti, países africanos e artistas afrodescendentes brasileiros. O repertório conta com canções das culturas tradicionais haitianas e africanas. As apresentações gratuitas do Grupo Clamor! serão realizadas no térreo do CCBB RJ, nos dias 18, 19 e 26 de maio, encerrando o evento. A classificação é livre.
