Luís Edwiges foi um dos fundadores do PT no Piauí.
Entidades, partidos e políticos lamentam a morte de Luís Edwiges
Políticos e entidades lamentam a morte de Luís Edwiges, um dos seus fundadores do PT do Piauí. Ele faleceu na manhã desta segunda-feira (04), aos 94 anos, em Campo Maior, a 83 km de Teresina. Luís Edwiges era militante de movimentos de organização de classe e lutou muito pelos direitos dos trabalhadores rurais. Ele morreu em decorrência de uma pneumonia.
O presidente da Assembleia Legislativa do Piauí, deputado Franzé Silva (PT), se manifestou sobre a morte de Luís Edwiges em suas redes sociais.
“Lamento, com pesar, o falecimento do Luís Edwirges. Trabalhador rural, vaqueiro, fundou a Associação dos Lavradores e Trabalhadores na Agricultura de Campo Maior, a FETAG-PI, CUT e o PT. Foi presidente do Sindicato dos Trabalhadores e Trabalhadoras Rurais de Campo Maior”, postou Franzé Silva.
A Federação dos Trabalhadores Rurais Agricultores e Agricultoras Familiares do Estado do Piauí (FETAG-PI), publicou uma nota de pesar pelo falecimento de Luís Osório Lopes, conhecido por Luís Eduvirges, que também foi um dos fundadores da Fetag-PI.
“Neste momento de luto, com nossas orações e assistência, desejamos confortar a família e os amigos para que, com serenidade, enfrentem a imensurável dor. Muito respeitosamente, prestamos as nossas condolências”.
O PT do Piauí publicou que Luís Edwirges lutou incansavelmente por direitos dos trabalhadores do campo, combateu e foi perseguido pela Ditadura Militar e sempre esteve na luta em defesa da Democracia.
O ex-prefeito de Campo Maior e ex-deputado Paulo Martins disse foi difícil receber a notícia da morte de seu amigo Luís Edwiges.
“Como é difícil receber a comunicação da morte do amigo Luís Eduvirgem. Líder sindical e lutador pelas causas dos trabalhadores rurais que deixa um imenso legado para a história política de Campo Maior. Suas lutas e conquistas serão exemplos para o Brasil. Descanse em paz Seu Luís!”.
O ministro do Desenvolvimento Social, Wellington Dias (PT), era grande amigo de Luís Edwiges e disse que conversou por telefone com ele quando ainda estava no hospital. Nas redes sociais, Wellington Dias disse que recebeu com enorme pesar a notícia do falecimento do fundador do PT, que foi um guerreiro incansável pelas causas sociais.

“Com enorme pesar, recebi a notícia do falecimento de Luiz Eduwirges, um guerreiro incansável pelas causas sociais. Trabalhador rural, fundador da ALTACAM e da FETAG-PI, sua inquietude pela injustiça o levou a ser voz dos trabalhadores. Perseguido pela ditadura, Luiz jamais desistiu.
Conversei com ele por telefone quando ele ainda estava no hospital, desejando a ele uma rápida recuperação. Hoje o Brasil e o Piauí perdem essa grande força do movimento da agricultura familiar e também essa grande inspiração.
Amigo de Lula, seu legado ecoa em lutas como presidente do STR de Campo Maior, fundador da CUT e do PT. Sua missão no plano material se encerrou, mas seu legado permanece em nossos corações. Agradecemos por tudo que nos ensinou, Luiz. Descanse em paz”, postou o ministro.
O deputado estadual Francisco Limma também prestou sua homenagem a Luís Edwiges.

O maior legado dos fundadores do PT é que, antes de qualquer coisa, sonharam e arregimentaram outras pessoas para também sonhar em construir um mundo melhor, mais justo e solidário.
